Cambridge Curriculum Classes and Exams

High School

AS level is a two (2) year program offered to 16 – 18-year olds.


School leaving examinations are set and marked by the University of Cambridge. Great emphasis is placed on the acquisition of skills, application of knowledge and the development of students thinking skills. The Cambridge curriculum allows for a student to become independent of mind, improve critical thinking skills and the confidence to confront challenges. Cambridge is known world-wide for the excellent education they deliver and prepares the students for their future studies and the workplace.


There are a selection of subjects to choose from. The syllabi develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills. Six AS subjects are recommended over 2 years for students who wish to pursue studies in South Africa, Canada and USA. 

A-level is year 13 and is offered as a post-matric course. Three A Level subjects are taken by students who want to pursue studies in the UK, Europe and Australia.


Excelsior Academic College offers classes in Maths, Physics, Chemsitry, English and Afrikaans for the CIE board examinations. Examinations can be written May/June and Oct/Nov.
